Have you noticed how many books are a part of a series. This seems to be a trend in YA writing. Why? and where did it start? Have we always been into reading multiple books about the same characters? Think back to older YA stuff like the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. I don't think this is a new trend; it's just kind of re-surfaced. Anyway...series is all the rage in YA right now. I'm listing some series you may want to check out. Some are really good, others not so much- but that's just my opinion.
Suzanne Collins- Hunger Games Series; Gregor Series
Michael Grant- Gone Series
Lisa McMann- Wake Series
Rick Riordan- Percy Jackson Series
Christopher Paolini- Inheritance Cycle
Cassandra Clare- Mortal Instruments Series
Scott Westerfield- Pretties Series
James Patterson- Maximum Ride Series
Tamora Pierce- Beka Cooper Series
Libba Bray- Great and Terrible Beauty Series
Brandon Mull- Fablehaven Series
Melissa de la Cruz- Blue Bloods Series
Ally Carter- Gallagher Girls Series
And the List Goes On...
