Christmas Music
Like most of the population, I've been listening to Christmas music. I was surprised, however, that many stations went 'Christmas only' so early. Christmas music has always played a huge part in my life- not just Christmas music, but lots of music. Anyway, I'd really like to hear some different Christmas tunes. Yes, I know there's something about the old classics- whether it be hymns (O Holy Night and Do You Hear What I Hear) or the crooners of old (Baby, It's Cold Outside) or Elvis having a Blue Christmas. They make us remember all the Christmas' at home decorating with Mom, baking millions of cookies, spending time with family you only saw once or twice a year, and waiting up on Christmas Eve- oh, and waking up early Christmas morning. One of my favorite memories is seeing how many words we could make out of 'Christmas' while we waited for the bus- yeah, I know. Anyway, new or less familiar Christmas songs wouldn't take away from the old, just add to the magic of the season. Right now I'm listening to Celtic Thunder. While many of the tunes are familiar, some aren't. There's a Scottish-sounding song called "Going Home for Christmas" and an interesting rendition of "Silent Night". Also included is "Christmas 1915" which you don't hear too often. This Christmas maybe you'll want to check out some different Christmas tunage.
