Messiness;( *Argh*

I HATE messiness. I'm not only talking about stuff being out of place like in my kids' rooms, I mean any messiness. For example, I can't stand books falling down or being out of place on library shelves (I even straighten books in other libraries and in stores). As I was straightening books one day, someone asked me why I would do that when they'll just get messy again. Really?  My answer was, "Well, my toilet will get dirty again too, but I plan to keep cleaning that!" Another great example...after an event I attended this weekend the student participants were asked to clean the area. When they finally stopped standing around (which shows a messy work ethic and possibly even a messy character) they started stacking folding chairs on a cart. Short version, the chairs wouldn't fit- why, because they were stacked messily! I had to take them all off and stack them properly.
What does any of this rant have to do with library stuff? Well, let me tell you. Too many YA books are messy. They are poorly edited, some even having spelling or grammar errors; and they often have plot-holes. Please readers, expect more and say so. Write to authors you like when you find an issue in their books. And authors...please respect your audience enough to give us your best.
Everything we do makes up who we are, and messy choices, living, thinking, reading, etc. can be very detrimental!
