The Library of the Future

OK, so it's been a while since I last posted. Anime Prom was just so cool that it thwarted my posting ability temporarily:( Anway, I get these professional journals and newsletter through my email- yes, I know. Today one came that highlighted an event taking place on the west coast where well-known writers are online right now creating a novel in 1 week. Each writer does a chapter. It's a fundraiser of some sort, and there was some prep work ahead of time. So I was thinking...we could do this too. We'll be planning it for January of 2011. What other ways can the internet and other forms of technology be used in the library? How about intereactive books on I-pads, or text alerts about library events and new books, or an online book club via facebook chat? What ideas do you have?
