New Author to Me- Cinda Williams Chima

If you're looking for a solid YA fantasy author, try Cinda Williams Chima. She writes high fantasy stuff. Her first series was The Heir Series (Warrios, Wizard and Dragon). Her second is The Seven Realms Series (Demon King and Exiled Queen are released so far, but two more are on the way). She'll then be writing more Heir books. Aside from liking fantasy YA, I picked up Chima on recommendation from another librarian (not a fantasy fan). I discovered that this writer's the real deal- she can actually write. So many YA writers are weak at best, but Chima's prose are interesting and well-developed. Often I'm drawn into a YA book by the characters.  While Chima writes fascinating characters, she also writes fascinating words. You can find her on the web at cindachima.com.
