Much of life is about social interaction. In my estimation, we're made to be social beings- some more so than others. With this in mind, much study has been done about young adults and their social behaviors. Among the different age-segments of the populace, teens are the most social. If you want proof of this just look at texting- 47% of teens can literally do it with their eyes closed. Who spends time on social networking sites?- 70% of teens who are online use some sort of social networking site. For a recent event, I didn't send paper copies to the teens involved, or even email them (most don't check their email)- I used Facebook and Deviant Art.

The questions that come to my mind, then, are: Are the days of face-to-face interaction coming to a close? Are those types of interactions changing? What's the role of the library, as a physical building, in the social interactions of teens? As I design the young adult section of a library how can I take all of this into consideration?
I could use some feedback from all of you under 25:)
