It's a New Year!!!

I love Christmas and spending time with family, but there's something about the New Year that makes me excited, anticipatory, hopeful, eager, expectant, agog (yes, last week I had to take a graduate school entrance test that dealt extensively with vocabulary- also, the TIL crew need to always be thinking about better word choices).  I love the thought of a new start. Though I know that can happen at any time, it just seems more appropriate or maybe just more fun to think about new things coinciding with a new year. Everyone says they don't make resolutions, but I think most people secretly do. I make lots of resolutions! - actually they're more like goals I set for myself to accomplish this year. Some are important, like working on being more patient with my kids. Others are less so, maybe even meaningless to most people, like trying a new food when the chance arises (I need to expand my horizons). Anyway, at least one of my resolutions involves books. I read A LOT of YA books, pretty much every one that comes into the library so that I can talk about it with you:) Anyway, this year I'm going to read 1 other type of book for every 5 YA I read. That may not seem life-changing (though I would argue every experience is life-changing), but it's a goal I've set for myself. We'll see how I did come December. What goals might you set for yourself in this New Year?
