The Stories We Tell...

Yes, that's part of this year's Summer Reading theme- but I think for YA writers and readers its a part of who you are.  Many of the teens I talk to want to 'tell' me about the books they've read- sometimes in too much detail:) Anyway, many of us love to tell stories. Do you like to tell your dreams? Create and run role-playing games? Teach? Sermonize? Write song lyrics, poetry, short stories, novels, manga? Draw stories? Relay to your friends what happened over the weekend? All of this is storytelling. And we all do it to some extent.

For some this is just our culture- though we are not as into storytelling as most cultures. For others, it's a need. There are voices in your head and the people they belong to need to get out. You know who you are:) Or, there's an idea rattling around in your brain that you just can't shake.  Let them out!!! Write them or tell them in another way. If you're not on Deviant Art- get on it! It's a great forum for teen self-expression.

Tell your stories- or the people in your head may just take over *Maniacal Laughter-Wa-ha-ha-ha*
